Remember we pray for the Almighty to 'open the eyes of our understanding', as we 'come into His Presence', 'reading' His Living Word, the Holy Bible. [See prayer on Introduction Post A-PM, February 25, 2020; Post 1-AM, March 2, 2020, and Post 3-AM, March 4, 2020.]
Having concluded with our Chapters 1-11 in our Outline of Genesis; and with our 'review pause over', let's resume our verbatim posting of Genesis with the Story of Abraham, and his children.
[Please see our overview posts, April 13, 2020.] For Chapter 11, please link here.
Reading 'Verbatim', the Books of the Old Testament - 'Genesis'; Bi-Monthly, Tues/Thurs, Post Chapter 11, March 26, 2020
Now, let us continue for it appears that the Story of Abraham shall finish posting during this week of May 11-13-15, 2020. Then, as is our habit, we will take a two-week break, giving us all a time to review all posted before we begin to see how the 'following' generations shall be 'in the faith of Abraham'. [Hebrews 11]
Of note. In the times of Abraham, as today, each of us must walk our own 'road' of 'faith in God', in our own lives and during our own 'generations'. The Bible’s teaching on any idea of 'household salvation' must begin with knowing what the Bible teaches about salvation in general. We know that there is only one way of salvation, and that is through an 'individual's faith' in Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:13-14; John 6:67-68; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8). We also know that the command to believe is directed to individuals and the act of believing is a personal action.
Thus, salvation can only come to an individual who personally believes in Christ. Believing in Christ is not something that a father, mother or anyone else can do for a son, daughter, or other person. The fact that one member of a family or household believes does not guarantee that the rest will also believe. God 'expects' all to have 'a personal' 'relationship with Him', but by and through faith in Jesus Christ.
There is NO OTHER WAY. BE NOT DECIEVED! Jesus Himself indicates that the gospel often divides families. In Matthew 10:34-36 Jesus says, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.” These words completely undermine the concept of household salvation.

1 'And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

5 And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,
6 Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.'
7 'And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
8 And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html

10 'And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,

12 'And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,
15 My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
16 And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
17 And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure
18 Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.'
19 'And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
20 And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a burying place by the sons of Heth.' Amen. Amen.
[Please note. Even in the 21st Century with respect to the 'land of Canaan', it is critically important to follow the 'rights to land' in the Middle East, even 'Israel', back to the 'ancestors'. Westerners tend to ignore this, but, the modern 'descendants' do not. Many take advantage of world-wide 'anti-Semitism' to try to win their arguments against the 'descendants' of Abraham. However, Israel will always be 'a land', 'a people' in the eyes of the One who matters, God, and where His Son will return one day to rule and reign. Those who bless Israel, God continues to bless. Equally, those who curse Israel, God continues to curse. In the future, I shall post for a Sunday Devotional Series Holy Bible Scriptures for our study, to be reminded of this most important 'fact of truth'. Who owns and gave the land to Abraham and his descendants - forever? Just for examples, see Genesis 12:3; 17:16; Numbers 24:1-9.] audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html Amen. Amen.
