Welcome back my friends.
As we continue the 'Historical Books', following 'the Book of 'Joshua', [as we have learned was written – 1250 B.C. by Joshua], was a fitting summary of the people of Israel at the time of his death. We now venture forward to - the Book of the Judges. audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
SECOND, we are continuing from our first post, April 13, 15 2020, in review, summation, and transition from Joshua to the Judges. Following our posts on April 17,21, 23,27, 29; May 1,5,7, 2020, this week, May 11-13-15, 2020 let us continue with our 'verbatim' posts with Chapters 9-10-11. [Some cross reference Scriptures are being included for more 'comprehension' as we study this chapter.] audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
Now, let us see how the Good Lord allows a peoples misdeeds be forgiven, and how God works where there is forgiveness and reconciliation between parties for their mutual advantage. We are never in control, especially of 'justice'. But God is......and we do 'reap what we sow'. [Proverbs 22:8; Hosea 10:13; 2 Corinthians 9:6; Galatians 6:7-9. Amen. Amen.] But God loves people to 'forgive'. [Matthew 6:14-15; 18:21-35; Luke 11:4]
The Never-ending Cycle from Sin to Peace.
The Cycle from Sin to Peace audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
Divisions: The book of Judges is divided in two parts:
I. The Cycles of the People 1-16 audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
II. The Samples of Sin 17-21 audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
Eight times we find the clause, “did evil in the sight of the Lord” (2:11; 3:7, 12 (2); 4:1; 6:1; 10:6; 13:1).
Two times we have the refrain “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (17:6; 21:25). audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
What was right in their own eyes was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Key Lesson: Disobedience brings Judgment
Judges Chapter 11-Part 1 audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
1 'Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
2 And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.'
3 'Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.' audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
4 'And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
6 And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
7 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
10 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.'
11 'Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh.' audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html
