Welcome my Friends to 'Sanctuary'. A 'room' where we are able to pull aside, away from all the 'cares of the world', for the purpose of 'focusing' on God the Father, through Jesus Christ, God the Son, as we are enabled by God the Holy Spirit. Welcome.
For a few posts, let us review and check ourselves to be sure we have 'repented', we continue to 'repent', of sins creeping into our lives, [through thoughts, leading to words and actions], from our old nature [the old man.]
[Study Romans Chapters 7-8, for deeper understanding of this 'conflict'. audio-bible.com/bible/bible.html].
Today, Sunday, November 25, 2018, let us continue what we began on Sunday/Wednesday since November 11, 14; 18, 21, 2018, our study of the meaning in - The Penitential Psalms
Remember, David was a man after God's own heart [1 Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22] He was not perfect, but David knew how to 'repent' when brought to realize he had sinned, and turned to God in total brokenness, abhorring what he had done. Let this be an example for each of us, when we truly 'repent' henceforth. We will know the 'grace' of God's forgiveness, in a more deeper and penetrating way. And, then, His love will be felt, and we will hate the sin we committed, and be more on guard in the future, because of His mercy and deep love for us. We will be in 'awe' of how wanton we can be, and yet, how God does not turn away from us. Then, we forgive ourselves, and move forward, hopefully, forgiving others in like manner [Matthew 6:15]. Therefore, let us consider Psalms 6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, and 143, with Outlines from Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary Online. Please, read each psalm, for yourselves. [Acts 17:11]
From a study of Psalm 6, we find that David was a weeping prophet as well as Jeremiah, and this psalm is one of his lamentations: either it was penned in a time, or at least calculated for a time, of great trouble, both outward and inward. Is any afflicted? Is any sick? Let him sing this psalm. The method of this psalm is very observable, and what we shall often meet with. He begins with doleful complaints, but ends with joyful praises; like Hannah, who went to prayer with a sorrowful spirit, but, when she had prayed, went her way, and her countenance was no more sad.
Three things the psalmist is here complaining of:—1. Sickness of body. 2. Trouble of mind, arising from the sense of sin, the meritorious cause of pain and sickness. 3. The insults of his enemies upon occasion of both.
Now here, I. He pours out his complaints before God, deprecates his wrath, and begs earnestly for the return of his favour (verses. 1-7). II. He assures himself of an answer of peace, shortly, to his full satisfaction (verses 8-10). This psalm is like the book of Job.

This Psalm 32, though it speaks not of Christ, as many of the psalms we have hitherto met with have done, has yet a great deal of gospel in it. The apostle tells us that David, in this psalm, describes "the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputes righteousness without words," Romans 4:6. We have here a summary, I. Of gospel grace in the pardon of sin (verses 1, 2), in divine protection (verse 7), and divine guidance (verse 8). II. Of gospel duty. To confess sin (verses 3-5), to pray (verse 6), to govern ourselves well (verses 9, 10), and to rejoice in God (verse 11). The way to obtain these privileges is to make conscience of these duties, which we ought to think of—of the former for our comfort, of the latter for our quickening, when we sing this psalm. Grotius thinks it was designed to be sung on the day of atonement.
